Affordable Disaster Recovery

In the course of my job as both a pre and a post sales engineer, I have the opportunity to look at and assess the systems in place and used by many small to medium businesses. If there is one thing which stands out and is a common theme, that is the backup systems are consistently inadequate, often not working correctly and unfortunately the business usually has a false sense of security and is living on borrowed time. In speaking with many of my colleagues, we all see the same thing.

ActivSupport is proud to sponsor Collective Roots, a non-profit organization located in East Palo Alto. The mission of Collective Roots is to develop young urban leaders who understand where their food comes from and how their actions impact human and environmental health.

ActivSupport's grant includes strategic IT planning and network support, computer hardware donation, Search Engine Optimization services and cash contributions providing multi-facet technology support for this innovative non-profit organization.

Michel Leconte, Founder and CEO of ActivSupport, Inc., says that "ActivSupport has been serving the IT needs of small businesses, non-profit organizations and governmental agencies for 10 years now." ActivSupport looks above the bottom line to create value and significant change in a world that is besieged by poverty, war, and climate change, and we have found a pro-active answer by joining 1% For The Planet, and supporting Collective Roots."  Leconte adds that "I love Collective Roots’ approach, starting from a challenging neighborhood in East Palo Alto, and aiming for deep, wide, short and long-term impact. Food is a truly a universal language that serves as vector point for leveraging change, and represents a broad reaching source of daily health and wellness that can have many positive effects on social and environmental progress. Collective Roots interdisciplinary food and nutrition curriculum intersects with the fields of science, environment, industry, and health. Providing this dynamic hands-on education to children and youth in the early stages of development has great potential for causing life-changing impacts on the lives of the child, parents, and communities that Collective Roots serves. This approach reaches to the core of some of the most pressing challenges in the world today."

Wolfram Alderson, Executive Director of Collective Roots, responds that “We are incredibly fortunate and grateful to receive the support of Michel Leconte and the talented team at ActivSupport. ActivSupport is a company that understands the strategic link between organization development and information technology, and seeks to build this capacity in ways that transform organizations and business processes. The fact that ActivSupport has a vision of technology that benefits humanity and the environment reflects a company with a global mission that provides real world benefits to all their customers, including business as well as community based organizations. We benefit enormously from ActivSupport’s interest in leveraging technology to create systems change that positively impacts the health, education, and environments in underserved communities.”
